God often speaks quietly—through longing, silence, or the encouragement of others. Learning to recognise the signs of a calling is part of the journey.

Discerning your vocation begins with listening. But how do you know if God might be calling you to something more?

Sometimes, it's a persistent inner nudge—a desire to give your life to something greater than yourself. You might feel restless in what once satisfied you, or deeply moved during prayer, Mass, or service. You may hear yourself asking, “Is there more to life than this?”

God also speaks through others. Friends, priests, or family members might recognise something in you—a capacity for service, leadership, or spiritual depth—and ask if you’ve ever considered priesthood, religious life, or mission.

Don’t expect fireworks. God often speaks through ordinary moments. Trust the small signs and remain open in prayer: “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10).
