Our mission

Rooted in God’s life and love

The Faith and Justice Commission brings people together across the Diocese to:

• Promote justice, love, and peace in action
• Identify and reflect on the tensions people experience as they live out their faith
• Support, nurture, and celebrate one another in the journey of discipleship
  

Our vision is inspired by:

• The person, life, and words of Jesus Christ
• The teachings of the Second Vatican Council
• The Church’s body of Catholic Social Teaching
• The 1989 European Ecumenical Assembly document Justice and Peace for the Whole Creation

What we do

The Commission works with parishes, schools, and youth groups across the Diocese to raise awareness and promote action on issues of justice and peace. We:

• Organise conferences, reflection days, and campaigning events
• Offer resources and guidance on current justice issues
• Maintain a diocesan office stocked with information and support materials
• Publish six newsletters each year to inform and inspire local communities
