What we do

Educating in faith

The Education Service supports Catholic schools and colleges across the Diocese of Lancaster in their mission to provide excellent education rooted in faith. It works with headteachers, governors, and staff to promote Catholic ethos, ensure high standards, and support leadership development. The service also oversees the Religious Education curriculum, manages governance matters, and acts as a point of liaison with national education bodies and local authorities. Its goal is to help every school thrive as a community of faith and learning.

Board of education & formation

The Board of Education and Formation advises and supports the Diocese in its mission to provide faithful, high-quality Catholic education. To learn more about its role and current members, visit the Commission page.

Reporting a concern

Creating safe environments for all

The Diocese of Lancaster is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults in all educational settings. If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a pupil, member of staff, or volunteer within one of our schools or education programmes, we encourage you to report it without delay.
