This department oversees the maintenance, safety, and development of diocesan buildings and properties, including churches, schools, and administrative sites. It provides advice and guidance on property issues, building projects, health and safety regulations, and compliance with statutory obligations. The team supports parishes in ensuring that all environments are safe, welcoming, and fit for purpose, balancing heritage and mission.

Health & safety
Ensuring the safety of all who enter our churches and buildings is a priority. The Diocese provides clear policies and risk assessment tools, and offers ongoing guidance and training for clergy, volunteers, and staff to meet statutory obligations.
The Health & Safety Committee is now part of the Property Committee, ensuring joined-up oversight of all building-related compliance across the Diocese.
