These three sacraments form the foundation of the Christian life. Through them, we are born anew, sealed with the Spirit, and nourished by Christ Himself.
When a person becomes Catholic, they receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. These sacraments are deeply rooted in Scripture and tradition, and mark one’s full entry into the Church.
Baptism cleanses us of sin and makes us a child of God. If already baptised in another Christian tradition, this sacrament may be recognised by the Church.
Confirmation strengthens us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and unites us more closely to the mission of Christ.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. In receiving Holy Communion, we are fed by the Body and Blood of Christ and united to the Church more deeply.
These sacraments are celebrated with great joy at the Easter Vigil, the most sacred night of the Church’s year.
